I think at our ages, we’ve lived long enough to say UGH when we hear reports like the padded push-up bras for sale on-line at the Abercrombie & Fitch Kids web-site!
Yep, that’s what I said~many complained and A & F did react they removed words like push-up and bra and replaced them with padded and triangle! It was to be a bathing suit for approx. 7, 8, & 9 year olds and was advertised as a push-up! In a world that has so much chaos and misunderstandings this one takes the cake! Now the site has it listed as a padded triangle. I’ve said it before and in my opinion, it almost always comes back to mom & dad~ Stop caving in! When I was a kid I went out and played, we invented things, we handcrafted stuff like a fake house that we would perhaps have the next door boy be the husband, and we would maybe have a hug and we thought we were so bad! Oh wait that was something that could’ve went terribly bad, but it didn’t and I think that is because we were innocent~we didn’t know it could’ve been anything else.
Kids do mimic what they see and hear~ so if they are mimicing a good stable relationship like the one you are in hey that’s not bad, but if Susie wants a stripper pole and a “padded triangle” you are so in trouble! Keep pushing the Barbie house for as long as you can~And just say no to everything else!
When your child wants something and you don’t want them to have it just say no! It really is just that easy~just say no. Put ear plugs in there may be some crying and pleading involved but if you hold your ground more times than not your children will not ask you silly questions in the future. And thus this will help you balance your life in such a way you may even wind up with a few extra dollars in your pocket to spend on an overly high priced and high calorie coffee drink. Or dare I say it and alcoholic one and if you do the latter please raise a toast in thanks to me~ I’ll be smiling!
